I was very pleased with the update. It was a simple yet effective change to trade. I was able to sit back and easily scan the 'WTBs' without needing laser vision correction surgery after. My only complaint is that the character limitation is still there and puts a small halt on trades. It would also help if the WTSs and WTBs were seperated in their own groups. Other than that, great update.

Sure, the idea is good. The problem most people are having right now is the restriction on how much text you can put into your trade announcement. People aren't hating the trade/party search system as such, rather the limitations.

I will say this, I like the party search upgrade alot. Usually when setting up groups in the deep it can take upwards of an hour, set it up in 10 min because people were using the party search.

I also went into town and managed to buy the offhand I wanted within mins instead of trying to sift throught he spam in the trade channel.

Only downside is that charactor limitation. Some discription are pretty poor but hey its a start

My thoughts exactly. I hate having my eyes burn after searching for something good in trade chat or trying to read in all chat when it's being spammed.

Overall, it was a good move. It certainly made a lot of things a lot simpler.

Two points though:
1. It's a bit annoying having basically everything in chat preceded by "Party Search" - to the point where people are going back to typing "WT B" etc to avoid that.
2. The character limitation should be extended quite a bit - it really becomes a pain when you want to buy/sell/trade more than one item.

A good start, but an increase in the character limit is needed to make the change really useful.

my thought maybe this is anet way of getting some to use the search button more often hopefully there will be an addition of the amount of characters allowed in such menu in some future update

I am enjoying the party search update a great deal... i've already managed to buy numerous items easily utilizing party search where previously i would have to shout over and over and over and still not recieve a response.

Imho Its a great idea but the party search is a waste of time unless you increase the character limit because well people are really only gonna need it for trade (it is already) we dont need easier way to find a party its less difficult to find a party than to sell stuff and thats what people NEED. As for it actually being used to make a party the benefit is minimal over the old system. I wouldve never suggested PS be implemented or supported the idea before a lot of other older issues were address 1st... this a small splash in the face of all thats wrong... think of it like this if you went to the car wash and paid to wash your car they bring it around with 1 clean hubcap and the rest is still dirty and they expect you to be happy... would you?

Reasons why I said seperation of buying and selling first is.

A while back I saw a quote by Gaile saying that it was impossible or hard for the dev to increase the character limit of the party search, beleive it or not,

or something along those line.

I search for it, but could not find it. If some one does, could they post the link/quote.

Or even better, Gaile, if you still around could you recomfirm that or deny it?

Please, I'l by you some bean cake! on me!

Loved the new implementation - I bought what I wanted within seconds of arriving in the main cities!! It's nice to not have to go through long jumpy pink texts!

I agree that the description for sell should allow more space, hopefully it's something that'll be worked on in the near future.

If they just made the character limit in party search the same as the maximum length for a chat message, it wouldn't be that bad.

I'd consider using it then.
